Jason Octave claimed five trophies,
including MVP in St. Lucia |

GROS ISLET, St. Lucia, April 20,
2009.- Jason Octave of hosts St.
Lucia was the cornerstone that
supported the triumph of his St. Lucia
team in the Norceca-A first round
tournament of the FIVB 2010 Men’s
World Championship that concluded
Sunday night here.
The slender Octave, who plays in
foreign European leagues, was elected
as the Most Valuable Player of the
event and not happy with that he took
home four more awards as Best Scorer,
Best Spiker, Best Server and Best
Receiver.

ISLET, St. Lucia, April 19, 2009.-
Hosts St. Lucia advanced to the second
stage of the FIVB 2010 Men’s World
Championship but it was not walking
through a rose garden as they had to
battle hard for two sets to defeat
Dominica 25-22, 31-29, 25-19 in a
decisive match between unbeaten teams
in the Norceca-A tournament.
The St. Lucian’s men followed the same
route as they countrywomen who also
claimed a second round ticket three
weeks ago also as the home team.

Men's defeated Bermuda in four sets |

GROS ISLET, St. Lucia, April 19,
2009.- St. Vincent and Grenadines
closed out its participation in the
Norceca-A first round tournament of
the FIVB Men’s World Championship with
a victory over Bermuda by score of
25-11, 25-12, 21-25, 25-14. The
winners ended the competition with a
2-2 win-loss record and the losers
finished with a 1-3 mark.
Adolf Davis and Marlon Williams topped
the scoring of the winners with 16 and
13 points respectively and Dominic
White had 11. Brian Meindersma led
Bermuda with 14 points. More

ISLET, St. Lucia, April 18, 2009.- Hosts
St. Lucia defeated St. Vincent &
Grenadines in straight sets 25-16, 25-20,
25-12 preparing the stage for a do-or-die
contest against Dominica on Sunday for the
second round’s ticket in the 2010 FIVB
Men’s World Championship. Both teams have
now a 3-0 win-loss record.

to the second round tournament

Bermuda wins its first match in Norceca’s
history |

GROS ISLET, St. Lucia, April 18,
2009.- Bermuda defeated Grenada in
straight sets claiming its first win
in the Norceca-A first round
tournament of the 2010 FIVB Men’s
World Championship. The score was
25-21, 25-17, 25-21.
Bermuda has now a 1-2 win-loss record
while Grenada finished the tournament
with 0-4 mark. For the winners it was
its first triumph in Norceca events.
Brad Meindersma led Bermuda with 12
points.

2009.- Hosts St. Lucia swept Bermuda
3-0 claiming its second triumph in as
many outings in the 2010 FIVB Men’s
World Championship first round Norceca-A
tournament. The score was 25-18,
25-14, 25-20.
The local side now trails Dominica
(3-0) in the standings of the
competition with both squads in a
collision course for next Sunday.

Dominica swept Grenada 25-12, 25-21, 25-19
cementing its position as a top contender
to move to the second phase of the 2010
FIVB Men’s World Championship.
The winners increased
their win-loss record to 3-0 following
their triumph over the winless Grenada
which fell to a 0-3 mark in the Norceca-A
tournament. They still have one more match
to play on Sunday against hosts St. Lucia.

2009.- Dominica got its second
straight victory by stopping Bermuda
3-0 in the last match of Day Two of
the FIVB Men’s World Championship
first round Norceca-A tournament. The
score was 25-18, 25-20, 25-13.
Ronald Bruno was the top scorer of
Dominica with 10 tallies and the only
with double figures in the easy

Vincent & Grenadines was the key in
the 3-0 victory (25-16, 25-20, 25-17)

Coaches hope to move to second round in
Jamaica |

2009.- The enthusiasm was evident from
all the five coaches at helms here for
the Norceca-A first round tournament
of the FIVB Men’s World Championship
which starts today with two matches.
They all expressed their confidence
about advancing with their teams to
the second round stage of the event to
be held in Jamaica next May 20-25. All
had the chance to express themselves
prior to the general technical meeting
of the event.

are the regional top two ranked squads
among the five countries participating
in the FIVB Men’s World Championship
first round Norceca-A tournament that
begins on Wednesday at the Beausejuer
Pavilion. The other teams in the
